The illustrious coat of arms
of the city of Vimmerby
Most other cities have mighty
eagles or roaring lions on their coats of arms. We have a cute little squirrel
sitting in an oaktree. We think it's kind of neat. The "C IX" stands for
Carl the 9th, a king
back in the late 16th century who gave us our city rights back after they
had been taken away about half a century earlier by his wicked father,
king Gustav Wasa.
